As we head into a new year, it’s a perfect time to reflect on personal growth and set intentions for the future.
Books have always been one of my favorite tools for transformation, offering wisdom, inspiration, and practical strategies to help me live my best life. If you’re ready to embrace change, here are five books that profoundly impacted me—and I’m confident they can do the same for you.
As someone who had to overcome ALOT in order to stop sabotaging my hopes and dreams, this book list is designed to help you learn what it takes to achieve your goals and start building your dream life in 2025.
1. The Last Diet by Shahroo Izadi
This book isn’t just about losing weight—it’s about rethinking your relationship with food and, more importantly, yourself. Shahroo Izadi combines her background in behavioral science with her own personal journey to create a compassionate and empowering approach to lasting chang
I mean, if I had a dollar for every time I bored someone to death on the topic, I’d be enjoying a tropical beach vacation right now.
Reading this book was like a breath of fresh air for me. Anna’s insights helped me understand the connection between my emotional responses and my body’s state of regulation.
What stood out to me was Shahroo’s emphasis on kindness and self-compassion. Instead of focusing on what you’re doing wrong, she teaches you to build habits from a place of respect for yourself. For me, this mindset shift was revolutionary. I’ve struggled with perfectionism and self-criticism in the past, and her approach helped me release those patterns. It’s not just a diet book—it’s a life book.
2. Re-Regulated by Anna Runkle
Anna Runkle, also known as the Crappy Childhood Fairy, wrote this guide for anyone dealing with dysregulation from past trauma.
Trauma is not always this BIG thing that you remember happening, but this book will let you know if your past is why you can't stick to a plan now
It’s a practical and compassionate resource that offers tools to help you heal your nervous system and regain control of your life.
Reading this book was like a breath of fresh air for me. Anna’s insights helped me understand the connection between my emotional responses and my body’s state of regulation.
Implementing her exercises—like daily writing and nervous system resets—brought me clarity and calm in situations that used to leave me overwhelmed. If you’ve ever felt stuck in patterns you can’t explain, this book might hold the answers.
3. The Mood Cure by Julia Ross
THIS BOOK SAVED ME!
When I was in my darkest dark this book gave me a way out. And I will be forever grateful!
Have you ever wondered how much of your mood is influenced by what you eat? Julia Ross’s book dives deep into the connection between nutrition and mental health, offering a step-by-step plan to use amino acid therapy and dietary changes to balance your brain chemistry.
This book was a game-changer for me. Learning how to nourish my brain with the right foods and supplements helped me improve my energy, reduce anxiety, and feel more emotionally balanced. As someone who works with women on health and wellness, it’s incredible to see how small tweaks in nutrition can lead to massive changes in mood. If you’re feeling low, this book is a must-read.
4. You Are a Badass by Jen Sincero
This is a yearly re- read for me.
Jen Sincero’s book is a classic for a reason. It’s funny, relatable, and packed with practical advice on how to step into your power and create the life you’ve always wanted. Her no-nonsense approach to self-belief and goal setting lit a fire in me when I needed it most.
It reminds me that anything is possible when I get out of my own way.
What I love about this book is how approachable it is. Jen’s stories and tips made me laugh out loud and also gave me actionable steps to take immediately. Whether you’re building a business, working on a relationship, or just trying to get out of your own way, this book will inspire you to stop playing small and start going after what you want.
5. The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins
Mel Robbins’ latest book is all about releasing control and embracing freedom. The “Let Them” theory is a simple yet profound concept: stop trying to manage other people’s behavior and instead focus on what you can control—your own response.
I spend a lot of my brain power worried about things I can not control, so I saw a video by Mel and I knew I needed to read this book.
This book hit me like a ton of bricks. As a mom and entrepreneur, I often found myself frustrated by things outside my control. Mel’s advice helped me step back, breathe, and let go of unnecessary stress. By “letting them” do what they’re going to do, I’ve found more peace and energy to pour into my goals and my family.
Each of these books brought unique insights into my life and helped me grow in ways I didn’t expect. Whether you’re looking to heal inside or out, set boundaries, or step into your power, these reads are a great place to start.
